What are your wishes?

What are your wishes?

Let's be frank about it

Either way you look at it, we're all going to die. And although you have no idea about the circumstances in which that will eventually happen, there are some things you can arrange beforehand. By planning ahead, you can get the medical care you want, avoid unnecessary suffering and relieve caregivers of decision-making burdens during moments of crisis or grief. You also help reduce confusion or disagreement about the choices you would want people to make on your behalf, especially when living in Spain. Your next of kin may not be fluent in Spanish or not know how things work here. By having a living will you can help them.

Voluntad anticipada - your wishes registered

The living will is intended to register your wishes about whether or not to undergo medical treatment when your clinical situation is irreversible and there is therefore no longer any chance of recovery. The moment you are no longer able to communicate your wishes, the medical staff will look at your living will and act accordingly.

Partners

For legal and financial matters related to life and death, I work together with various offices that offer English-speaking services on the Costa del Sol.

Digital signature

With a 'certificado digital' you can not only view your medical will at any time. You can also arrange all kinds of other government matters with it. Useful to know, for example, whether you have received a traffic fine (and be able to pay it with a discount)

Filling out a medical will is not simply ticking boxes. I take the time to answer all your questions. We make an appointment at your home or at the office of one of our partners, you choose!

Safe

Both your personal details and your wishes for the medical will are treated with the utmost confidentiality. At the bottom of this page you will find a link to the document where everything is explained about the processing of your data.

During a Spanish course in Granada I fell in love with Andalusia and in 2002 I moved to Cómpeta (Málaga). There I got the opportunity to work as an alderman for the municipality for four years and I was responsible for, among other things, Tourism, Culture and Communication. It was also my first acquaintance with all kinds of official procedures in Spain.

In 2010 I decided to start as an independent entrepreneur. The freedom to work when I can get the best out of myself, to be active in all kinds of sectors and to be in contact with the most diverse people are essential parts of my life. As a journalist I have had the opportunity to look behind the scenes at many government agencies. In my work as coordinator of Marbella 4Days Walking I often had contact with various government departments and other clients have often asked me as a 'trouble shooter' for matters related to the Spanish government.

During research for articles in ESpecial Life Magazine, I delved into all kinds of issues surrounding death. I also filled out a living will myself and put things in order. When I finally found myself in the situation where decisions had to be made for someone else, I did so with love. But I would rather have felt supported by a living will. That is why I have now set up this help and translation service for completing the living will in Spain.

Because it's nice to be able to count on someone who has not only gone through the entire process himself, but who also absolutely does not shy away from a little Spanish bureaucracy!
